You’re smart, accomplished, and hardworking. You think quickly and are accustomed to processing a lot of information.

Your track record of success shows that you’re capable of greatness, and you aren’t afraid to put in long hours for the things you care about.

You have a strong engine that drives you. You’re intelligent, diligent, and advantageous in many circumstances. But…

You just feel stuck.

  • The same small things keep tripping you up.

  • You think you have outgrown your current position but you aren’t sure.

  • You made the the jump to management and the “bag of tricks” that got you promoted isn’t working anymore.

  • The spark of your best self feels like a distant memory

  • The skills that got you where you are aren’t getting you where you want to go.

  • You know you are capable of more than you are currently delivering.

  • Meeting other people’s needs is a breeze, but you’re not sure how to meet your own needs.

  • You know what you need to do, but you can’t seem to get yourself to do it.

  • You can’t keep saying “yes” to everything but you aren’t sure what to say “no” to.

  • You’re overwhelmed and don't know how to regain direction.

  • You’ve achieved big goals and don’t know what is next.

The same strong engine that drove your success has you kicking up mud.

That’s where Grammalog comes in:

We specialize in leadership development for mid-career professionals in high-skilled industries (law, medicine, tech, biotech), people who are too busy and whose brains work too fast to benefit from cookie cutter “management boot camps.” We offer emotional and intellectual roadside service to get you unstuck, fast.

Services

Coaching

Executive Coaching emphasizes your role in finding solutions to your problems. As your coach, I help you better understand how you think now and how you can transform your mental processes.

Together we consider your options, leverage your strengths, and open up new neural pathways by shifting perspective and learning strategies for behavior change.

Of all the services grammalog offers, coaching is the most transformative.  You will leave not only with a way out of your current jam, but also a “users manual” for your own mind that help you turn future moments of “stuck” into opportunities for growth.

Consulting

As a consultant, I give you specific insights into the reasons you feel stuck that you may have missed. Once you are unstuck, I trust you to take it from there.

I provide consulting for a wide variety of clients and topics, including:

  • Managers stuck on how to motivate and guide their teams

  • Academics navigating the tenure process and/or the peer-review publication process

  • Creative artists stuck on larger projects or lacking inspiration

  • Teachers struggling to connect with students

  • Parents seeking strategies to support children with ADHD

  • Neurodivergent people seeking ways to navigate neurotypical social worlds

  • Chronic procrastinators

We all have blind spots. Let me help you find what’s holding you back.

Training

Are you in a new role that requires different ways of communicating?

Or maybe you just want to level up your communication skills.

I offer hands on, personalized training to help you improve your communication in areas including:

  • Public speaking

  • Executive presence

  • Job interviewing

  • Meeting facilitation

  • Interpersonal relationship building

Learn how to be the best version of yourself in more contexts with improved communication.

Facilitation

When teams get stuck, it can be difficult to agree on the sticking points. Stress drives employees deeper into habitual ways of thinking causing friction among team members.

As a facilitator, I am trained in how to listen deeply to diverse stakeholders and pinpoint  levels of disagreement, which may not even be realized yet.

Through facilitation I will help your team:

  • Understand each other better

  • Work through interference patterns

  • Find common ground

Learn to appreciate your colleague’s unique strengths and develop strategies for becoming a more effective team.

Speaking

Stuck organizing a mandatory professional development session for work?

Or is there a topic you’re passionate about, but your colleagues don’t feel the same way?

You need an engaging speaker that will get folks to feel differently about topics they feel stuck listening to.

As a speaker, I engage the audience and bring connectedness to the room. Some topics I speak about include, but are not limited to:

  • Leadership development

  • Continuing legal or medical education

  • Corporate training

I have a charismatic, assuring presence that can help put you at ease.

I excel at reading social dynamics and helping clients uncover pressure points that may be holding them back.

I’m a quick study of complex systems in various environments, allowing me to better understand where you’re coming from.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does grammalog mean?

Grammalog (or gramalogue) literally translates from Greek as “word-letter.”

Stenographers use it as shorthand - a form of communication where one mark represents a whole word.  In performance composition, the term refers to a kind of “super metaphor” that can cut across multiple discourses.

It’s a symbol that unlocks new ways of seeing the world, which is what Grammalog Group helps our clients do.

Do you offer coaching for ADHD?

Absolutely!

The coaching methods I use were developed to help corporate executives prioritize, set boundaries, make better decisions, and implement their visions across the organizations they lead.

These same tools are remarkably well-suited for helping many people who struggle with planning, problem-solving, organization, and time management.

In fact, many of my clients who have ADHD report that Executive Coaching helps them address the root causes of their struggles so they don’t feel like they are constantly putting out fires.

A lack of knowledge is rarely the problem for ADHD brains.  The challenge is knowing which knowledge to act on, and when and how to get yourself to act. This is what I will help you learn to navigate.

Are you a life coach?

As your executive coach, my goal is to help you get unstuck and unlock your potential.

When you’re stuck, this feeling often seeps into all areas of your life. Your relationships may suffer, and you just don’t feel like yourself.

Some “life coaches” offer proprietary plans that keep you coming back for more.

My goal is to coach myself out of a job, so that you can get on with your life.

I do maintain long term relationships with some clients, but my business depends on you getting back to you...not getting “stuck” on me.

How fast can I get unstuck?

The answer is...it depends.

It depends on how or where you’re stuck.

Many clients report feeling less stuck after the first session. Most clients who invest in the process make significant progress after one to two months of coaching.

Together, we will get your engine going in the direction you want as efficiently as possible.

When is our partnership over?

We part ways when you feel unstuck and satisfied that you’re moving in the direction you want to go.

Coaching helps you find your developmental edge - the places where you can most rapidly accelerate growth. I ask new clients to make a three-month commitment for a couple of reasons:

  1. It can take time to find your developmental edge.

  2. This process can be initially unnerving. It’s important to stick with it for some time to see results.

For most clients, three months is enough time to see how the process works and determine how much they’re getting from it.

On the other hand, some clients get the results they’re looking for in less than three months. If you’re satisfied and feeling unstuck in a shorter amount of time, I’m happy to part ways with a smile.

How often do we meet and for how long?

We begin our partnership with an intake that lasts about two hours.

During this intake, we’ll come up with a meeting schedule that works for you.

Many coaching clients find that every other week for one hour is the sweet spot.

Some clients prefer to meet more or less often, or to have longer or shorter sessions.

What about between sessions?

Behavioral change is hard, and accountability helps.

Many clients ask for short check-ins via text message, phone, or email between sessions.  We will discuss what’s right for you at our initial meeting.

What if I don’t know exactly what I want to work on?

Are you typically driven but feeling goalless?

Not knowing what you want is another hallmark sign of being stuck.

If you have a sense that these services might be helpful for you but aren’t sure how, that’s something I can coach you through.

How is executive coaching different from therapy?

Coaching doesn’t diagnose or treat any psychiatric illnesses, but it can often alleviate depression and anxiety that are secondary effects of being stuck.

While coaching can be therapeutic, it’s not therapy.  Coaching is future-focused and action-focused. It’s less concerned with how and why you’re stuck, and more concerned with what thoughts and actions will help you to get you moving in the right direction.

Are sessions confidential?

Yes. Confidentiality is crucial to the process. Unless you reveal a specific plan to harm yourself or someone else, I will never reveal anything about what you say during our sessions to anyone without your express permission.
